Since husband is a rocket scientist and all, he gets emails like this.  He asked that I forward it to Eli.  Obviously.

Did you know she's a Christian dog?  She totally has a cross on.  Obviously.

Here's the deal...

I think I'm more excited for my puppy than I was to have my own children.

Does that sound weird?

It probably does if you DON'T have children.

Here's the thing~

I don't have to send this puppy to college or teach it to be a nice person.

My commitment is probably 12-15 years and won't cost hundreds of thousands of dollars.

She won't roll her eyes at me and say, "Whatever Mom."

I could even kick her (which I won't) and she'd still love me 2 seconds later.

Children are over-rated.

Speaking of... I should go since mine are sledding around the neighborhood unsupervised.

Bad mommy.

Mean, Appalling and totally Hysterical!

These videos kill me.

First of all, I have to give credit to the parents who were willing to have their child's bad behavior broadcasts on television.

At the same time, they're just kids in all their selfish little glamour.

The boy at the end of this clip cracked me up.  But then I would've busted him.

 

He also challenged parents to tell their kids that they ate all their Halloween candy.  

Osm.

Again, there's a little punk at the end of the clip with a lot of sass.

Fortunately he has a cute brother which probably keeps him from getting in trouble.

 

I'm tempted to try one of these experiments on my own children.

Ordinary Life.

I've been inspired to start taking some different kinds of pictures.

Pictures of ordinary life  

some that make sense and some that don't.

I was going to do a different blog, and then commit to one new photo each day, 

blah, blah, blah

but I'm going for the simple method here.

I'll just add a new tag: Ordinary Life.

It's mostly just meant for me

a way to chronicle life in our house.

"Mom, I know it's late but I haven't showered in a reeeeeeaaaaally long time.  Can I take one now?"

"Sure Eli."

10 minutes pass and the water shuts off

"Eli, did you use soap?"

deep sigh...

Water starts... again.

I love him.

 

Are you ready? It's the year of the Schnoodle.

 

 

Some of you have already known about the secret Eric and I have been keeping for many months.

Thankfully Christmas is over and I can now shout to the world that we're getting a puppy!

The kids are very excited.

Eric is mildly excited.

I am off the hook crazy excited!

Thanks to the generosity of my BELOVED FAMILY,

the Friesens will bring home a Schnoodle in about 4 weeks.

*Disclaimer- please don't make fun of me or judge me for not rescusing a really sad pit bull-lab mix from the Humane Society.  Here's my reasoning: I couldn't buy the genetics of my children, so the least I can do is purchase some good genes in a dog.  Hopefully it will obey us better than our children:)  Plus I really wanted a puppy.  I need something to mother.  Again.

Let's talk about my schnoodle obsession for a moment...

But seriously, if one of these was about to move in with you, wouldn't you be a little crazy too?

Couple of quick answers to your possible questions~ 

Yes, it will be a male or female.  (still undecided)

Yes, it will be black w/ possibly a touch of white.

Name?  Well... that gets tricky.  Eric is pulling rank and says we have to name it Buster.

Won't work for a female.  Busty?  I don't think so.

We pick up our pup on Jan. 31st.

We got it here.  They have been amazing especially considering I email like 10 questions a day.

Yes, almost all blog posts and Facebook Status Updates will be about my schnoodle starting February 1st.  Just hide me now.

 

Here's why I'm osm at Christmas.

My kitchen looks like this when I bake.

Then the cookies suck.

I did however buy stocking stuffers at Walgreens while all three children waited in the car.

Ho.  Ho.  Ho.

I could be the coolest mom ever.

if I gave Eli one of these suits for Christmas.

 

What 9 year old boy doesn't want to "Grind the Crack"?
